The Colors are Very Different in Person
COVERGIRL – Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Eyeshadow – Pure RomanceI had some hesitation after opening the package and finding such a difference in the shades I received (see photo) and the shades I thought I had ordered. But after scanning the bar code (and trying very hard to read the teeny tiny white printing on a pale pink background on the back) I have come to the conclusion that I did not, in fact, receive the wrong colors. So while I was hoping for mauvey pink tones, what I got, as you can see, was a lot more lavender/purple with gray tones.I considered returning it, but figured since I’d gotten it at a good price, I’d give it a try, if I hated it, I’d pass it along to someone else.Well… to my surprise, I really liked it. The colors are sheer but just pigmented enough that you can put them on and see them on your lids without having to spend 5 minutes with a blending brush to tone down the color. So you can definitely build to the depth and amount of color that you want.The quality is very nice; it looked just as good at 5 pm as it did when I put it on. The colors are soft and creamy and go on easily. I didn’t notice any smudging or fading.If it helps, I am fair-skinned with blue/gray eyes and cool undertones, and while I am not normally a fan of purple shades (I am much more comfortable with nude or neutral shades) because they tend to be too bright for me, I don’t mind these. I am considering ordering some of the other shades, but hesitant since I don’t know what colors I will actually end up with.But other than that, I would recommend them–but maybe check them out in a store first and see how the colors in the picture compare to the real thing.

Natural look.
I simply love this Covergirl Natural Nude shades shadows. They look beautiful blended or if you simply want a little highlight. The shadows last all day with no fading. And the price was pretty great too!

I LOVE THIS EYESHADOW BUT WAS VERYDISAPPOINTED THIS LAST ORDER OF TWO – THE (USUALLY COMPACT ) POWDER INSIDE WAS ALL SMASHED UP AND CRUMBLY – ALL OVER THE CONTAINER AND WHEN OPENED BEGAN TO SPILL OUT BLUE ALL OVER EVERYTHING. uSUALLY THE POWDER IS COMPACT AND EASY TO USE THE LITTLE APPLICATOR TO WIPE ACROSS YOUR EYELID – I HAVE ORDERED THIS SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST – NEVER BEFORE WAS IT ALL CRUSHED UP AND SPILLING OUT. PACKERS NEED TO BE CAREFUL AND SURE THAT IS IS NOT ALREADY SMASHED UP IN THE CONTAINER… DO NOT WANT ANY MORE LIKE THAT…

Not too bad.
I was looking for an eyeshadow without talc and this brand was recommended. The colors are not quite as solid or rich as I would have liked, but I guess that’s an acceptable trade-off at this price point. They blend well, but they don’t really layer much. The black and navy shadows have glitter, and the greys have a metallic sheen. (I know it looks light blue in the picture, but it’s just grey. One is warm, one is cool.)

Don’t get this if you are a mature age
I like Covergirl makeup and I have exclusively bought their eyeshadow for years. I thought I would try out this palette because it looked like the same colors I had before except just three since I never used all four on my other palette. Well, they’re the same color but they’re way too shimmery (I should have realized from the name). And shimmery just doesn’t look that good on a 54 year old woman.

Affordable and pretty!
I’ve always liked Cover Girl shadows. These shades are pretty and yes, sheer. If only, the color showed up a tad more but it’s not a big deal for my aging eyes! 😂
