I’m never buying a regular sized yoga mat again!
This mat is amazing!!!I’m never going back to a regular sized yoga mat.So my shopping mission began when I wanted to get something for myself and my 9 month old baby to play on. Something that could be multipurpose for yoga, gym exercises and also playing, learning to crawl, walking and toddling on. I originally was going to purchase those foam tiles that click together but I really wanted something that could be quickly/easily stowed as I live in a 1BR apartment.First I noticed the price. The regular sized mats from Lululemon a popular yoga brand are $60. So I was comfortable spending an extra $40 to get an even bigger sized mat that was thicker. I think it is a slightly premium price for a mat, but after using this product I can vouch that it is indeed a premium product and I feel that the value is worth it.Next, space. W O W. I have so much room to move around! I can practice yoga while my baby plays and when she is trying to crawl up my legs while I’m stretching I can just rotate 90 degrees and continue my practice. It is unreal! I have some foam rollers and I can just sprawl on them and roll around all over and not worry about laying on the floor because I’m always cushioned by it’s luxurious foam. It is the best!Comfort. I’ve used a lot of mats and I tend to go for a lighter weight thinner mat, and it’s been years since I’ve used a thicker mat, but I really love it. This mat is thick and luxurious. Almost like memory foam, you kind of sink into it and it feels really good.Sticks to the floor. This mat stays under your feet and isn’t moving. It’s got a special side that you put down on the floor and its like magic it just stays put. This has been awesome for my baby as she learns to pull up on things and walk, I feel relieved knowing that it’s not going anywhere while she puts her weight on it.Super easy to store. Takes seconds to clean and roll up. The towel it comes with is super handy too. I just put it behind my couch when I have company or I need it out of the way. Rolls up very easily and isn’t too heavy.Colour. Black is really nice and the gorilla emblem on it is a nice touch. Easy to take pictures on.I haven’t tested it outside yet, but look forward to taking it on some adventures!!This mat is easily the best purchase under $100 that I’ve made in a very long time.Buy it!!I’ll add some photos once I get time!

Durable, great for kids playrooms
I bought this product back in 2019 as well as a smaller, purple version. I’ve used this one in the main playroom/living room and the smaller in my daughter’s room. I got them when she was starting to toddle around because I didn’t want the kids play mats in the middle of my living room at the time, but wanted her to have some cushion between her and the floor, as she was falling often. This was a great alternative! It provided a place for her to play/walk, was easier to clean than a rug, and less of an eyesore than a puzzle piece mat.My oldest is 4.5 and my youngest just turned 1 and I’m still using both mats! I’ve also used the mats for workouts since I was utilizing the same space! There’s only one spot that’s damaged (very minimal, see in picture) and thats because I vacuum over it with my shark!! If you’re looking for something to last and easy to manage, this is it!

Comfortable but continues to smell
I’ve had this mat for over a month. The first week I left it out 24/7 to off gas because some fumes are to be expected and this mat definitely had a potent smell. I’ve now had the large 5’x7′ mat for over a month, I use it 3 or 4 times a week, and will leave it open overnight every few days because the mat, while not as bad as it used to be, still stinks of chemicals. It is particularly bad while my face is near it, for example planks or many yoga positions. I try to hold my breath for a lot of it because it is still unpleasant. Now the good parts are that it is JUST the right thickness and grip. I can wear socks and it still has enough grip. So far it is holding up but again, I use socks.

No smell and no weird textures
Ok, my new mission is to tell the world about this amazing product! I had been eyeing it and thinking that was a lot of money for a mat. But it is so much more than that. The first time I did Pilates I had all my gear spread out, I had room to move, and I was able to engage in my mat workout in ways I never had before, simply because I had space. It’s super thick and I use it on my hard wood floors. I have old tired knees and didn’t need a towel for them. It’s given me my large living room floor as a space where I can comfortably roll like a ball and do all the fun stuff that goes with Pilates. I got the 7×5

Great for strength workouts
This is the mat I use in my gym room for the vast majority of strength workouts. I love its size, color, and how it doesn’t slip on the ground. However, it is not my go-to mat for yoga as the top of this mat has a more slippery texture than I prefer for yoga. I specifically chose the version that wasn’t designed for yoga, so I am not taking off any stars for this, but I wanted to point it out to help other folks’ expectations. The slippery texture can also make things like forearm planks difficult when I am sweaty, so I always have my other yoga mat ready to go next to this one during strength workouts.

Avoid! No warranty and false advertising.
They do not honor their warranty, avoid this company at all costs. The “yoga” mat is clearly advertised for any floor exercises, showing pictures of people in shoes doing exercises with weights etc.. When my mat started to shed, I asked them to honor their lifetime warranty and instead they told me it was only for barefoot yoga and the warranty did not apply because I wore shoes on it.So unless you plan to only do barefoot yoga on this mat, avoid this company like the plague. Zero integrity and they do not stand behind their products.The lifetime warranty is a just marketing scam and they will squirm their way out of honoring it. Better options out there for the money. You have been warned.

Perfect Size – no smelly VOCs
My yoga teacher has us rolling around on the floor and my yoga mats were too narrow so this Gorilla Mat was perfect! I could use a 10mm thick one, but this one is comfortable enough (I might put an extra mat down when we’re doing kneeling poses) and surprisingly, it doesn’t smell like toxic gas! YAY!
