This beautiful recycled paper bead necklace was handcrafted by single working mothers in the Ugandan countryside. The women gather recycled newspapers and scrap paper which are then hand-wound in a unique production process. Production of these crafts is the primary source of their sustenance and livelihood. Affordable, beautiful, and fair trade, these necklaces tend to be on the longer side and can also double as wrap arounds on the neck or as bracelets as well. Because the material is extremely lightweight, people often like to pick and choose multiple color necklaces to wear at the same time. Due to the handmade nature of these beads, supply is limited. Very cool paper beads
I had to use a bead reamer on some of them to open hole but l LOVE them! Slight variations in size and color so l sort them accordingly. They make handmade jewelry so much more interesting. I do wish they would offer the long narrow ones by themselves tho.

I use each bead as a vase for miniature dollhouse. I gave it 4 out of 5 bc the opening on either end doesn’t lay flat(it tilts). I received more dark beads than light.
